My mother went in for surgery. We went because of the reviews, and because everyone we asked recommended the doctor. She did not die from the surgery. She died from a Hepatitis B infection she got in the hospital. The surgeon was great. The facility was not. We never looked at the facility, because there was nothing to look at.

Years later, on a trip in Tennessee, an ATV accident put my wife in an ambulance. The ambulance took us to the nearest hospital. It was an emergency. There was no choice, no time and no data.
